Los Angeles Christian Health Centers (LACHC) is here, on the frontlines, responding to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic in Skid Row and other underserved areas where the barriers of poverty, homelessness and illness complicate access and care. Our vulnerable homeless neighbors are particularly at risk and so we are here fighting for resources and continuing to deliver vital care and love in the midst of the pandemic!

When the pandemic hit, LACHC rolled into action and we hope you will roll into action with us and Make A Gift:

  • COVID-19 Testing. We advocated for and won access to COVID-19 tests for our patients! We have been testing for the past few weeks at several sites, including new testing tents located outside our Skid Row and Boyle Heights sites.
  • Street Team in Action-One Street Team is providing medical care at LA County’s Dockweiler Beach Isolation/Quarantine Site for the unhoused in need.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)– We have PPE and are protecting our staff, thanks to special contributions from current and new partners. We are also accepting in-kind mask and sanitizer donations! Please send an email to Jessie Wu, Director of Nursing.
  • Telemedicine– We are down to essential appointments only and switching many doctor visits to telemedicine calls, so we can continue to offer care to our patients while they, “shelter in place” at their homes, tents or from shelters where they reside.

Please pray for the protection of our staff and our communities.

If you are able, please make a financial gift of $30, $100, $250, $500 or whatever you can do – to help cover testing and medical care for uninsured patients and to help us keep responding to this crisis.

Overall, we are not discouraged. We are inspired by our mission, which calls us to do what Christ would do at these times.

Please join us in this fight for our patients, our staff, our city and this world.
